Updates come to the app, Accessibility stops needing a relaunch, and the About tab finally has room to breathe.
Updates
- Desk Rug can now check for a new version on its own, every few days, without opening the website.
- Check manually from the app menu whenever you want the latest release.
- The update window shows the new version, download size, and release notes, with options to download, remind you later, or skip that version.
- If the update server cannot be reached, the app says so plainly and leaves the current version untouched.
Accessibility
- Accessibility permission is now detected live instead of only when the app starts.
- Returning from System Settings refreshes the permission banner automatically.
- Once access is granted, Desk Rug rescans your desktop icons on its own — no relaunch needed.
About
- The About tab is split into Updates, Author, and Credits, so each part has room to explain itself.
- The current version sits beside the app name.
- Credits now point clearly to the people and open-source work behind Desk Rug.
Naming & localization
- The app bundle and executable are now named Desk Rug, matching the app in Applications, the DMG, and the process name.
- Every new update and About string is translated into all 13 supported languages.
